Why did we choose the service name "Itookashi"

"Itookashi" is an ancient word that means "very quaint" or "very cute" and expresses a feeling of being moved by something, which matches our goal of "inspiring people to eat Japanese sweets and move their hearts. We decided to name our service "Itookashi".

About us

We wanted to introduce people around the world to the rich variety of sweets that make use of ideas unique to Japan, and at the same time, we wanted more people to recognize "Okashi" as a new culture in Japan. We started our activities with the hope of becoming a bridge between Japan and the rest of the world, and to encourage interest in various aspects of Japanese culture through confectionery.

What is "いとおかし"

"Itookashi" is an old word used in the Heian period (794-1185) to express feelings of being moved by something, meaning "very quaint" or "very pretty. It is a compliment used when you are moved by something, such as a beautiful scenery or something elegant.

Four seasons

Since ancient times, people in Japan have lived their lives while feeling the changes of the four seasons: cherry blossoms in spring, stars in summer, autumn leaves in fall, and snow in winter. We would like to help people all over the world to feel the Japanese expressions of each of the four seasons.
